Served in the Army beginning in 1966.  Deployed to Vietnam in April 1967 - April 1968.  Later, in 1974 enlisted in Army Reserves and achieved the rank of E-8, 1SG.  Awarded the Purple Heart, Meritorious Service medal, Vietnam Service Medal and others.  Joined the VFW in 1985, became Post Commander in 2011 and has continued to serve.  He was also Commander, Hudson Mohawk County Councils and Commander, District 3 where All State District Commander was achieved.
